Commercial Solar Questions
Is solar worth it for my business?
It depends mostly on when you use power. Businesses that trade in the daytime, such as shops, offices, workshops and cafes, can use most of their solar as it is generated, which generally makes the numbers stronger. We look at your bills and usage before recommending a system.
Is there a rebate for commercial solar?
Eligible small-scale commercial systems, generally under 100 kW, can receive an upfront Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) discount, shown on your quote. Its value changes with system size and over time.
Can I claim the cost of solar as a tax deduction?
Tax treatment such as the instant asset write-off changes from year to year, so speak to your accountant before you commit. The system generally needs to be installed and ready for use within the financial year you want to claim in.
Do I have to buy the system outright?
No. Finance is available, subject to credit approval, fees and terms, and for larger systems we can also discuss off-balance-sheet arrangements. Each option has different cash flow and tax consequences, so we compare them on the same basis.
Do I need approval to connect to the grid?
Larger systems need network approval to connect, which can affect timing and export limits. We explain what applies to your site when we quote.
What if I lease my premises?
You will need your landlord’s agreement before installing. We can talk through the options with you.
Is the mounting suitable for Darwin cyclones?
Darwin sits in a cyclonic wind region, so mounting must be rated for it and suited to your roof structure. We check this as part of the site assessment.
